In my current role as Visual Editor, Washington and Investigations at the Wall Street Journal, I lead a multidisciplinary team of visual journalists and technologists to craft interactive, visual and data-driven narratives. I’ve led the visual presentation for multiple newsroom investigations that exposed toxic lead poisoning leaching from cables abandoned by telecom companies, the ways in which Tiktok serves up sex and drug videos to minors and a pattern of federal officials trading stocks in companies their agencies oversee, which was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize in Investigative Reporting in 2023.

I have also directed narratives that place readers within the context of the story, telling them what kind of voter they are, which brands Republicans and Democrats love, and where people have moved the most post-pandemic. I am well-versed in finding datasets and using them to tell a visual story including this project on Donald Trump’s overseas business empire or Elon Musk’s tweets. I’m also an expert in obtaining satellite imagery for visual investigations from multiple partners, including spearheading and editing this story that revealed an increase in mass graves during the war in Ukraine and this piece that visualized frequent blackouts. I have led coverage for several presidential and midterm elections, finding new ways to innovate each cycle. I enjoy building and leading teams, helping people do their best work and telling stories that can only be understood through compelling, visual storytelling.
